THE EXPERIMENT

For the Altitude Wines project, wines were placed at 6 different mountain stations in Zermatt and exposed to the harsh weather conditions of the Swiss Eastern Alps for a whole year. Different altitudes and climatic conditions influence the maturing of the wines in a unique way.

In preparation for the experiment, the ideal filling height of the bottles was determined in painstaking detail work to ensure that the bottles will not burst, even when it is very cold. All bottles are also packed in opaque film to protect them from UV radiation.
